Fleet Mechanic

Cannon Companies is looking for a qualified applicant to join our team as a Fleet Mechanic. We are looking for a candidate with Heavy Equipment maintenance and Fabrication experience. This will be a full time, hourly (non-exempt) position based out of Milton, WA.

Essential Requirements:

  1. Must have experience working with heavy equipment
  2. Experience working the demands of a wide variety of tasks on a large, diversified fleet
  3. Must be able to do annual Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections
  4. Comfortable communicating with others
  5. Motivated to learn and able to adapt to changes when needed
  6. Possess analytical skills and the ability to problem solve
  7. Be organized and have a strong attention to detail
  8. Knowledge and skills of metals technologies
  9. Ability to accomplish tasks with little or no supervision
  10. Have a current valid Driver's License
  11. Must be able to lift heavy items over 50 lbs.
  12. Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Criminal Background Check

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment.
  2. Welding/fabrication
  3. Detailed and positive communication skills are a must.
  4. Ability to use on-line computer based technical data.
  5. Using Fault isolation trees and illustrated parts break downs to facilitate the completion of work assignments.
  6. Ensure all equipment meets or exceeds OSHA, WISHA, STATE, DOT, and local laws
  7. Ability to multitask numerous projects and or assignments on a wide variety of maintenance related issues.
  8. 8.Installs various items to include engines, transmissions, differentials, axle and hub assemblies, injectors systems, pumps, rotors, drums and Hydraulic assemblies and sub-assemblies
  9. 9.Maintains welds on various items using a variety of processes; manual arch, MIG, TIG, brazing and aluminum. Using a plasma cutter, oxy acetylene cutting torch, etc. To ensure the availability and functioning of required items in need of repair and or fabrication confirming reliability and safety.
  10. Assist other trades personnel as required to complete other tasks.
